The Gorjus Life of Buddah

What it's really like to be a famous nobody. But at least I'm famous. Timing is everything. I create my own opportunities. Get in where you fit in. Patience is a virtue. I am not a virtuous person. At least I don't think I should admit it. Okay. I'm damn lucky to be where I am today. It's a great time to be alive. God is everything. We are to. Here is my connection to you.

It's Game Time

Okay, my Gorjus fans. I'm just glad to be back and so action packed. Today i celebrate the "crabby cabby". Why are drunk people so much smarter than us? I'm so sick of riding with Shrek and Donkey, I just want to pull over and clock out early. I really want to get my MMA going on in the middle of the street with some drunk dumb fuck. You ride. You pay. You get on with your life. it was a pretty busy dead weekend. Summers tend to be that way in Athens,Ga. What? With most of the students being gone during the summer months. I could give a what? That's the way the crack cookie crumbles. Summers tend to be filled with simpler schedules, more work and play than school during the regular school year. Whatever. You piss me off in the summer, you won't see my ass during the school year. Hot tub time machine it is not, but bucket of unsavory bolts it might be. I just do my thing. Ride or die. People are sometimes cheaper( ok, most of the time, they are dicks) if they don't work in the service industry. We ain't partners, we ain't brothers, and we damn sure ain't friends. Don't hop in the cheese, if you don't have the bread. fa sho. The necessary evil in my life is having to work a regular job, as with so many others in the entertainment business. I just want to make it through a weekend without some asshole telling the best joke he/she knows and having no comedy skills. Sorry, in the words of Donald trump, You're fired. Fired your ass right out the cab. Walk. Don't do comedy. Top ten reasons you shouldn't be doing comedy. Reason number 1.- You suck. No.2- The finniest thing to ever come out of your lame ass frat-boy mouth  was your frat brother. No. 3- Drunk doesn't equal clever. No.4- hating on the cabby isn't comedy, it's a cry for help. Go take a  fucking bath. No. 5- Just because you got in the cab, doesn't mean I like you and your cynical tone. You paid for the ride not the jokes. Asshole. No. 6- Complaining is for bitches. Dude, change your tampon. I cannot really read your mind, it's all an act. No. 7- This is a cab, not a limo or a free comedy show. I will kick your ass. lol I don't open doors for dudes or Miss daisy. Bitch you're trippin. No. 8- Your breath smells like homemade meth and ass sprinkles. Please, reach in my pocket. I have some tic tacs. Have as many as you want. No. 9- Funny looking isn't enough. How did you plaid shirt wearing mother fuckers ever get laid. Being white and preppy, should be against the law. Am I the only person who genuinely dislikes "those" frat fucks? 8 times out of ten, the are circle jerk all stars. No. 10- The number ten reason  you shouldn't be doing comedy is not that complicated. I don't like you and would really enjoy running over your so so funny ass, but we don't really get points for that. Years maybe. All I'm saying is, driving a cab is a good opportunity to meet a lot of people in the area face to face. I'm what you call, a shameless self promoter. I've been blessed to have these shows and people in my life to make that possible. Thanks for your support and my ability to perform is undeniable. So, this weekend was all i expected. Monday is gonna be productive and simple. Let's get this b.s. cracking Athens,Ga. This is the Gorjus life of Buddah. Not always so pretty, just Gorjus. See you on the other side of the pillow.

Last Night Was Heat

Well, the show last night @New Earth Music Hall was a really cool event. We had r&b, poetry, hip hop, reggae music. Good company, conversation and dope ideas being born. I hope, unless you are on fire, that you get a chance to see this show. This is a pretty solid outfit of veteran showmen. We put as much truth, honesty, and energy into Poetic Soul as any poet feels like they may spit(speak). I know this muuuuch is true. Ha ha ha ha. I may be a comical genius or just stupid. lol Anyway, back to the show. Mon2 Miller and myself, Buddah aka Albert Gorjus, ran the show as smooth as an assassination. We killed it. Not that you are afraid of poets. ha. Our first artist to the stage was, Diijai, a very polished vocalist. The boy has the skills and stage presents to make your head nod and your hand reach for your lady like it has a mind of its own. Nice set, homie. Keep it coming. He performed ,in Buddah's Variety Show, last week and made the judges take notice. We had some newbies and some veterans. You can see the pics on my facebok page, under Showyn Albert Gorjus Walton. Check em out. I like to think of myself as an amateur photographer. I bring my camera and I shoot everyone. If it was a gun, we'd all be dead. Big shout out to Brandi Maze,Patrick Bishop. patrickmiguelbishop@wordpress.com/  . Check out his blog. His poetry is Fiyah. New to the scene was Echo, she just moved back to the classic city after a few years out west. California. Los Angeles. Hollywood. After playing at Second City Comedy Club doing improv comedy, we are blessed with another really talented poet. The scene keeps growing. If for whatever reason, I don't mention your name in this blog. Take it personal. nah, I'm just messing with your head. I HAVE NO MEMORY. lol I will update this blog when i get it in my hands, the list that is. Power in numbers. We have to combine our network in order to become the beasts of change our destiny propels us to be. I am not even afraid of success. Get at me, Daaaawg. We should be aggressive pacifists. Don't let the poetry fool you, homie, because the hands will school you. In any show I move through. It's a great night. Especially, if we move you. Big shout to Nina. Great quickie. Next time do two poems. lol. Whyyyy God, Whyyyy Meeee? Live Poets Society presents poetic soul every Tuesday nights @New Earth Music Hall. Show starts around 9pm. Thanks for the great job,Reggie Sykes( Dj Chief Rocka). Today is his birthday and he is ceeeelebraaatiiiing. Happy Birthday, Virginia's lose. Our gain. he will be Djing Buddah's Variety show next week. Confirmed. Smart move, Buddah. I did a new piece. Titled: That is me. I'll post it soon. After the poetry show, we had a Hip Hop beat battle. That's when you have up and coming song producers showcasing their tracks. The Hip Hop scene is still one of my children. Does that mean I am old? So what? You need veterans like me and energy like the people I promote in order to stay young. I AM THE MOVEMENT. So, if you work with me, then you are the movement also. Stay up!!! or start running. Because the Live Poets Society is coming. To a face near you. Big shout out to Adrian zelski, the club owner, for giving us the opportunity to shine. Smells like someone is going green. lol Al Gorjus 4 Prez!!!!!

Live Poets society

Tonight is coming kinda slow today for some reason. I wrote a new piece a little earlier today. I think it's pretty dope. Anyway, I'm just really excited about my blog, my own show and now I'm blessed to have a band situation. It's about to get really HOTT in the Classic City. Gorjus BBC. Be looking for us in a month or more. You can't rush perfection. I will not be put inside of a box( refering to whether it is hip hop or rock or funk/soul), until they put my ass inside of "that" box. lol I'll let you know how the show went later. with photos of course. yes.

The Gorjus Life of Buddah

Follow omigodlook on TwitterOkay, this is my first blog op. Thanks to Blogger, I'm now blogging. haha. I've been so busy trying to make an impact in entertainment in this very lily town. All I can say is, keep on keepin on. I started out as a "dancer", back in the eighties. It was hip hop and the way it made me feel. Music has always been so much a part of my life. I didn't take up comedy and poetry until much later. somewhere around the mid-nineties, I came home from Germany, where i served my country in the United States Air Force as a soldier. It was such a wild time in my life. To be young black and single, so far away from home, was a blast. I saw some really great shows over there, Ice Cube and the Lynch Mob was my favorite show. I saw Chuck Brown, The Godfather of GoGo music, at a cool ass club called Cookies in downtown Frankfurt Motoring in Germany. cover title. Am Main. My friend, Gerald Davis met with him after the show and spoke with him briefly about his music and the entertainment business. I was hooked. I wanted to be like that guy. Older, Cooler and Forever young in his music. Damn, I had the "itch" to be on stage. When I came home from the military, it all started with my best friend "Bird" aka Dexter Wingate. We used to hang out a this cool ass bar, The Uptown Lounge, and got to know a few local musicians. A few of the bar's regular patrons and bartenders, named "Chief", "Clay", "Falcon", and "Shawn. Their band was called, Space Cookie. They were what you would call progressive punk music. We saw them perform and realized, music is music. They had such a great drummer and bassist, who could play any beats we liked in hip hop. Our music of choice for the better part of our lives. It went over so well at that jam session, they invited us back in the hopes to do a few songs with them for their New Years Eve show @ the Atomic Music Hall. I can only remember one of the song titles. "I know your name, Bitch!". It was directed at those oh so friendly drunk sorostitutes you meet in bars. the ones who act like they just love them some~ Buddah. Yea, you guessed it. grudge fuck music was born. The females that know you when they want to flash some side boob for a cig types. I bet her name was probably Becky. It's all good Becky, look at me know. lol I'm not really laughing out loud, but I like typing LOL. Well, she is the object of , not so much fury, but ridicule is a better term. Fuck her and her lame homegirls. I won't pay for kitty. Not then and definitely not now. I'm so clever. I thought I figured it out. I was twenty five at the time. Not yet a man, but still a soldier at heart. I was so spoiled by my time in the military, where women really wanted a piece of you. If you know what i mean. Chuckling to myself. Like I'm sexy or something. I'm not. But, I am anyway. I guess. Well, I thought I was the new smelly shit back then. I just came back from the future. Today is June 8th, 2010. Becky hasn't changed. Now I'm working on my own band. We are Gorjus BBC. Big Black Chocolates. or Big Brown cock. it'll be hilarious. I'm serious about my comedy. No, seriously. Ok, I'm a comedian/poet/emcee/host from hell. In my mind, which is like a movie, I am the star of it. My Life. my Music. My gift to my inner circle is to believe in one's self. Almost to the point of, please shut the fuck up. If I do music, poetry, art, comedy and any other opportunity to share a part of my self with my community, by being what I like to call an Ambassador of Good Energy. I believe in you as much as I belive in myself. Thanks for listening and thanks to me for sharing. I hope you stay tuned. I'm a trip.
